Congratulations to the following Periodontists who achieved Diplomate status:

The May 2010 oral examination will be held on May 3-6, 2010.  The application deadline was October 31, 2009.  Eligible candidates who wish to submit application for the May 2011 Oral Examination Session to be administered May 3-7, 2011 must submit a completed 2011 Oral Examination application by October 31, 2010.  Assigment of candidates is on a first/serve, first/come basis.  Ultimately assignment of candidates to a particular session is at the sole discretion of the Board.  Candidates may download the 2011 Oral Examination Application,  complete and mail to the Board office along with the required application fee of $800.00.  

2010 Annual Registration Forms have been mailed to all Active Diplomates to be completed and returned along with the annual registration fee to the Board office by January 1, 2010.   A reminder of the January 1st due date will be sent to those Diplomates who have not registerd and paid the annual registration fee by December 1st.  A second reminder will be mailed on January 1st.  Diplomates who do not complete their annual registration requirement by January 15th will incur a $100 late fee.  If registration is not completed by March 31st the Diplomate will be sent a certified letter placing him/her on Inactive status.  No periodontist may claim to be board certified while on Inactive Status.  Return to Active Status will require payment of any past due annual registration fee(s) and a $75 reactivation fee plus the late fee of $100.

Diplomates who are due to recertify during a calendar year will be sent a notice in January of that year that recertification, (CE points, completion of SSRP, and attestation form), must be completed by December 31st.  If the Diplomates does not recertify by March 31st of the following year he/she will be placed on Inactive status and must completed their recertification requirement and incur at $75 reactivation fee in order to be returned to Active status.  No periodontist may claim to be board certified while on Inactive Status.

Beginning 2010 one oral exam session will be held in the spring. The 2010 session is scheduled to be administered May 3-7, 2010 in Dallas, TX.    Applications for the 2010 session must be received by the Board office no later than October 31, 2009.   Scheduling of candidates is on a first come/first serve basis.  Ultimate placement of candidates is at the sole discretion of the Board.   Current eligible candidates who have successfully completed the Qualifying (formerly known as Written Examination) will receive one additional year of eligibility to complete the oral examination.  Candidates who successfully complete the 2009 Qualifying Examination will receive 3 years of eligibilty.  Please visit the Examination pages of our website to download the application and review other pertinent information regarding the examination.  The November 2009 oral exam session will be held as scheduled November 16-19, 2009.
