Director of Examinations Announced

The ABP is pleased to announce Angela Palaiologou-Gallis, DDS, MS, as the new Assistant Director of Examinations. Dr. Palaiologou-Gallis will serve as the Assistant Director of Examinations in 2025 and will become the ABP Director of Examinations in 2026, at the conclusion of Dr. Jeffrey Rossmann's term. The ABP Director of Examinations provides substantive guidance to the ABP Board of Directors on examination policy and best practices, provides oversight to the Board's examination process, and supports candidates throughout the examination process. We are grateful to Dr. Rossmann for his years of dedicated service to the ABP and welcome Dr. Palaiologou-Gallis to this new role.

Call for Applications: American Board of Periodontology Director of Examinations

The American Board of Periodontology (ABP) is seeking a Board-Certified periodontist with extensive experience in the board certification process to serve as its next Director of Examinations.

The ABP Director of Examinations provides substantive guidance to the ABP Board of Directors on examination policy and best practices, provides oversight to the Board’s examination process, and supports candidates throughout the examination process.

The ABP expects to fill this independent contractor position by January 2025 to provide one year of overlap with the current Director of Examinations.

Requirements:

  • Board-certified periodontist
  • Experience as an ABP examiner
  • Strong understanding of the board certification process
  • Minimum of ten years since board certification
  • Strong interpersonal skills
